Day 2 - Tour of Lima, Peru

We started the day off with a bus tour of the city of Lima.  The weather was really nice with temperatures in the high 70s.  Our first stop was to the Archeological and Anthropological Museum where we got to see artifacts dating as far back as 2000 years B.C.  There were a lot of interesting pottery and stone carvings, as well as hand woven tapestries.  There was a cute young girl (14 years old) showing us how to make one.  It is amazing how much detail and time goes into one little section.
After the museum we went on a walking tour to see the Plaza Mayor and to three Cathedrals and Monasteries, one being San Francisco Monastery.  The architecture of the buildings were gorgeous.  Also the gardens in their courtyards were really pretty and well kept.  Later in the day we stopped by a few shops where Jenn got to try out some of her Spanish.  When we got back from the tour we relaxed for a bit then went out to grab a bite to eat right next the the Pacific Ocean.
Now we are back in the room getting ready for bed because we have to get up at 2am to go to the airport to catch our next flight to Cuzco.  The flight is at 5:45am and will only be about an hour and a half.
Good night to all!

Hi! You had a jam-packed day 2 of touring! Great photos, looks like you had a comfy room :-) Saw a TV in the corner - guess you didnt get a chance to check out the TV shows last night - you had to get up early for day 3!

I thought you'd stay longer at the initial stop, but you're already off to another destination....

It's amazing how old the culture is and how far back the artifacts go...the U.S. is so young comapared....

Dinner near the Pacific Ocean....did you get a chance to go for a quick swim??

Hope you got a good night's sleep and have a great day 3!

Loce U 2 :-)

Wow you both are gonna be exhausted when this trip is over. Loved your pictures to music. Everything seems very colorful. How are you both managing with the high altitude? Have fun. Miss you both.
